3-2-1 Ted Talk

Ted talked about habituation and one example he uses is the sticker on a piece of fruit. It is good marketing because it helps you check out at the grocery store more easily, but when you go to eat it, you have to look for the sticker and try to get it off. Over time you get used to taking the sticker off and it becomes a habit. ted also talked about windshield wipers. A group of people were driving in the winter when someone had to roll down the window to clear off the snow, and Mary Anderson came up with the idea, and eventually came to design the first windshield wipers. Lastly, he also talked about Steve Jobs and Apple. Ted was saying how he hated when he had to go through all the trouble of getting a new product, to come home and realize that he had to charge the gadget. Steve Job's made sure that all of his electronics came already charged.

One thing i think isn't well planned which relates to when Ted talked about Apple is thinking back to when i was younger and getting a toy at the store and coming home so excited to try it to realize that it needed batteries, and they weren't supplied. Another example of a product that wasn't well planned is when you can't reseal a bag of chips or popcorn. A lot of bagged food makes it so you can't reseal it after you open unless you buy something else that says it will seal it and hope it works. I think this is poorly planned because sometimes, only after a few days, the chips or whatever food can get stale.

A product that is designed well is the blade-less fans. This is designed well because it prevents dangers like getting your hair caught in it and it also doesn't really cause as much dust build up than fans that have blades and covers.
